had a number of pictures showing how colourful the local women's clothes were. Those clothes need washed, and in a tropical country they are normally dried in the sun, as a result, not only are there opportunities for photographing the wearers, but also the common sight of lines of washing. While, with this series of pages progressing southwards, the country is steadily becoming less rugged, it is still grand, offering expansive vistas as backdrops to the local colour.

From another group it is the girl who hears us. Woven baskets are ubiquitous, others can be seen

And all these colourful garments, not only have to be washed, but someone has to make them. A seamstress - who makes her own yarn, judging by the rotating winder in the ground next to her, and the threads that stretch off to our left
